SatMe-PC 2026.10.34

SatMe-PC and SatMe-Node, one package (Linux, Windows, Raspberry Pi).

What's new
  • Web publishing: SatMe-PC pushes to an outside web site, whatever it is (an optional module, off by default, which no profile switches on; Réglages › Modules). While it is off nothing goes out (no queue, no test, no live data) and no 🌐 button shows. Ticked, Réglages › Services en ligne › Envoyer vers un site web: SatMe-PC sends over HTTPS what you choose — SSTV pictures, planches, reports, contacts, the journal's videos — to an address of your site (with {type}, or one address for everything), an optional token; your site receives them as it likes (PHP, WordPress, a small Python server…). Tester (required: ready only after a test that passes), then each kind Sur clic (the default), Automatique or Jamais. The format is a documented, versioned API (X-SatMe-… headers, multipart/form-data with a JSON card, one id per delivery so nothing is published twice), with ready-to-use receivers in PHP and Python and a page showing what was received: see docs/publication-web.md. A refused token stops everything until the next test; a refused kind shows « refusé (403) » in the history.
  • Web publishing to a folder: with no server, SatMe-PC writes each item into a folder of this PC (type/year/id.ext and its .json card, an index.json, an Atom feed flux.xml, never leaving half a file), for a static site or a sync tool you already have (Nextcloud, Syncthing, an rsync or FTP mirror).
  • Windows installer: an update no longer deletes any of your files. satme-pc-windows.msi emptied the whole program folder when replacing the old version, a donnees folder put beside it (portable mode) included. It now removes only its own files. Before installing this one over 2026.10.33 or older, copy a donnees folder kept in the program folder elsewhere: the old version still empties it one last time as it goes.
  • Installed by the MSI, SatMe-PC keeps its data in %APPDATA%\SatMe, never in the program folder: a donnees folder found there is copied at start to %APPDATA%\SatMe (or %APPDATA%\SatMe-portable-<date> when that is in use), checked, then used; the original is kept and a window says where your data is. Réglages › Démarrage refuses a data folder inside the program folder. Portable mode stays the ZIP's (USB stick).
  • Web publishing › En direct (live, optional, each part ticked on its own, nothing by default) — Auto-pilot (a campaign's next pass, the reception under way, the next picture, the last picture received; during a pass, the picture arriving every 5 s), QO-100 spectrum (the narrow band as the SDR sees it, one line a second) and DATV picture (a small picture and the MER while the receiver is locked). The site never connects to the station; only names, times and measurements, never an address, a code or a key. No queue: when the site does not answer, SatMe-PC waits and tries again; « Effacer le direct » removes it at once. To a folder: direct/direct.json and the pictures. A station that already published to its site keeps the module, and its address becomes …/api/publication/{type}.
  • SSTV: the satellite followed, reminded in an inset beside the live picture: its name, the auto-pilot's 🤖, the SSTV mode and downlink frequency, the Doppler-corrected receive frequency; the pass's sky (AOS, LOS, highest point, the satellite now), a small globe (ground track, footprint); AOS, TCA and LOS in local time and UTC, max elevation, position now, range, time left — or the next pass. ▾ folds it, ✕ hides it (back from SSTV › Réglages › Affichage); stacked under the picture on a phone.
  • Web publishing: planches say everything about their series — the satellite, the event or the auto-pilot's campaign, the first and last picture's dates, slides received out of those expected and the ones missing, the best picture of each slide, the passes that brought pictures (AOS, LOS, max elevation, number of pictures, 🤖 auto-pilot) with each one's journal video, and the link to their report. An SSTV picture and a journal video say their pass and whether the auto-pilot received them (and for which campaign). More optional fields in the JSON card, described in docs/publication-web.md: a site that does not know them ignores them.
  • Web publishing › Favourite satellites (a box under En direct, unticked by default): the list of the satellites marked ★ goes to your site as soon as it changes, otherwise at most once an hour (type favoris; to a folder, favoris.json), for instance for a home page to feature them. A site that does not know this type is left alone until the next day, without an error message.
  • French wording: « pylône » instead of « mât » (the rotor's mast) throughout the French interface and documentation.
  • SSTV: the number of the ARISS series 33 slides is read (« SLIDE 6/12 », yellow and thin, often cut by the picture's bottom or moved up when the picture began late): the ISS pictures of 3 and 4 October are sorted in order, 31 of 34 numbered (an unreadable copy takes the number of its slide's other copies). The series' number (« СЕРИЯ 33 ») is read too: a picture of another series no longer counts in the « ARISS SSTV Series 34 » event.
  • Planche › Relancer l'analyse: only the event's pictures (the default when the sheet has one) or all the pictures, chosen beside the button.
  • Web publishing › Diplômes (a box under En direct, unticked by default): the awards followed in Agenda › Diplômes go to your site as soon as they change, otherwise once a day (type diplomes; to a folder, diplomes.json) — name, issuer, your progress (« 37/100 squares »), where each stands (in progress, reachable, asked for, received, event to come), dates and the link to the rules; never the contacts counted, the pictures' names, the notes or your details. On an award whose picture is attached, Envoyer le diplôme reçu sends that picture (or PDF) to your site, on that click only (type diplome-image).
  • French wording: « locator » instead of « carré » (grid square) throughout the French interface and documentation: the Locators tab, « locators contactés », « En cours : 37/100 locators », « nouveau locator » (FT8, APRS, log), the Locator column; « sous-carré » becomes « locator à 6 caractères » and Maidenhead fields « locators à 2 lettres ». The English text likewise says « locator » for « grid square ».
  • Journal: the video follows the preview exactly. The speeds (During the pass, Outside the passes, Picture or contact), the ×1/×2/×4 « Speed » under the preview, the margins, the silences skipped and the globe's camera (Chase, From the station, Seen from the satellite, Overview) go into the video as they are: the preview now plays on the video's own timeline. Make tells the video's length before it is made. The sound only plays where the time runs in real time (×1), here as in the video: never sped up nor slowed down. The « Accelerated replay » box becomes « Skip the silences » (what has no QSO, no picture and no sound heard plays fast and silent; the rest in real time with its sound, or at the Picture or contact speed with no recording — never again a silent pass played at ×1), with its Silences speed under the other speeds and its stretches hatched on the timeline; the settings already kept still apply.
  • Frequencies (Doppler): every live transmitter, with its frequency, whatever its mode (« SSDV », « GENESIS FSK »…), and the rig's mode for it: slow FSK (under 1200 bit/s), SSDV and SO-127's « GENESIS FSK » put the IC-9700 in USB-D (no longer FM). Autre fréquence… at the end of the list: a downlink in MHz, an optional uplink, the rig's mode (USB, USB-D, LSB, FM, FM-D, CW), Doppler-corrected like the others and kept for that satellite (« Oublier » removes it). On the phone, the PC page does the same, and the list no longer shifts the choice when an inactive transmitter comes first.
  • SO-127 (HADES-SA) SSDV: *Télémesure › SSDV en BLU. SO-127's two-tone FSK (800 bit/s, 1600 Hz shift, or 200 bit/s, 1125 Hz) decoded from USB audio — the rig's sound card (IC-9700 in USB-D) or the SDR receiver: the tones searched across the audio band, the GENESIS frames (sync 0xBF35, CRC-16, descrambler), and the SSDV packets, which join the pictures pass after pass. **Capturer les bits* keeps each pass's bits; Relire decodes afterwards a recording of the Son tab or a WAV from another program; Essai runs a made-up test chart. Receive only. Checked on made-up signals: to be confirmed on a real pass.
  • SSDV over an FM repeater's AFSK 1200 (IO-86 / LAPAN-A2): packets sent with ssdv2sat, bare or in AX.25, whole or shorter, are taken from the card's APRS decoder frames and join the SSDV pictures.
  • Geoscan satellites' pictures (Geoscan-2/4/5, 239Alferov): their GFSK 9600 frames (sync 0x930B51DE, PN9, CRC-16) are read by the packet decoder, and their JPEG chunks rebuild the picture in Télémesure › Images SSDV as they come. Checked on made-up signals only.
  • SSDV pictures in the SSTV tab (SSTV › Images): those of the last three days, under way or complete, with their packets received and missing and the passes that brought them.
  • Auto-pilot: SSDV campaigns — Décodeur SSDV en BLU (SO-127) in a campaign's chain (ticked by itself for a satellite sending that way); a frequency of its own may be USB or USB-D. The pass's report says how many packets came.
  • Web publishing: SSDV pictures (type ssdv-image, Sur clic by default): the 🌐 under each picture, with satellite, NORAD number, first and last packet, packets received / expected and missing, the passes that brought some (and the auto-pilot); a picture already sent goes again by itself when more packets come, under the same key. To a folder too.
  • Web publishing › FT8/FT4 (a box under En direct, unticked by default): each FT8 (15 s) or FT4 (7.5 s) slot, once decoded, goes to your site — the satellite of the pass under way (or the band), and for each message heard its audio frequency, report, text, the callsign and locator it gives, CQ or for you (60 at most), with a small strip of the waterfall to draw the spectrogram (type direct-ft8). A whole journal pass with its messages goes on 🌐 in the FT8 tab (card « Passages FT8/FT4 sur le site »), or by itself when the pass ends in Automatique (type ft8-passage, Sur clic by default). Only messages heard over the air.
  • Journal: a nicer closing summary, pictures at their own size. The video (and the identical preview) ends on a summary card: satellite, date, station, the pass's or session's figures (duration, max elevation, pictures, contacts, stations heard, locators, FT8/FT4 decodes, distances), the track in the sky and the pictures in a grid, thin-framed and captioned (time, mode, slide number). SSTV pictures are no longer blown up full screen (blurred): never more than 1.5× their size, never stretched. New Summary length slider (Make, 7 s by default), counted in the video's announced length. In 16:9 as in 9:16.
  • Journal: the sound is back, sped up to ×4. Since the preview followed the video, a recorded pass stayed silent except around logged contacts (and whenever Speed went above ×1). New Sped-up sound box (Make, ticked by default): where there is a recording, its sound plays sped up to ×4 with its pitch kept, in the preview as in the video; a recorded pass therefore runs at ×4 at most (×20 elsewhere), the announced length includes it. Faster than ×4: silent. Skip the silences keeps its paces. On the timeline: green line = real time, light green = sped-up sound.
  • Journal › Sped-up sound: a pass is held to ×4 only where something is heard in the recording (with 2 s around); elsewhere the chosen paces apply, silent.
  • Journal: « Outside the pass » before the AOS and after the LOS, even for a single pass. The pass is AOS to LOS (During the pass, ×1: real time with the normal sound); the margins before and after, and the time between two passes in Continuous, run at Outside the pass, reached quickly (×20 to ×1000 in about a hundred seconds) while the slowing down stays gentle inside the pass, nothing skipped there. A few minutes of margin no longer lengthen the video. Sped-up sound holds to ×4 only between the AOS and the LOS. Options: the Outside the pass slider always shown, the speeds named for where they apply, and a Sound block (With the recording's sound, Sped-up sound, Skip the silences and its speed) — Make keeps only the files. On the phone's page too.
  • The manual as a PDF: this guide laid out for printing (cover, contents with page numbers, the chapter at the top of each page, the screenshots), in French and English, attached to every release on GitHub (SatMe-manuel-fr.pdf, SatMe-manuel-en.pdf). ⤓ Télécharger le manuel (PDF) at the top of the built-in manual (F1). The guide is up to date with all of the above: web publishing, SSDV, Autre fréquence…, Journal (speeds, sped-up sound, closing summary), SSTV series 33 and 34, Windows data.

SatMe-PC 2026.10.33

SatMe-PC and SatMe-Node, one package (Linux, Windows, Raspberry Pi).

What's new
  • SSTV › countdown to the next picture (under the live picture, and in the Auto-pilot card): a ring and « Prochaine image dans 1:24 », from the campaign's timetable or estimated on the pass's pictures, put right on each one; the picture under way's progress, « en retard », « en attente », « fin du passage » at LOS; 🔔 a beep 5 s before (off by default).
  • SSTV: a picture is no longer cut in two when its sync is lost in the middle (a fade, a jump of the sound — UmKA-1 on 27/10: the top in one partial picture, the bottom in another): the decoder finds it again and goes on with the same picture at the right row, the lost rows marked. ⧉ Réunir (viewer, Journal, the auto-pilot's history; on its own at the end of an auto-pilot pass) puts two partial pictures from before back together from their sound; the partial ones are kept, ↶ Séparer brings them back.
  • Réglages › Services en ligne › Site web: SatMe-PC publishes on your amateur radio web site (SatMe's « site » module, the one behind f4ioz.fr) the SSTV pictures and planches by itself, the reports, contacts and journal videos at a click (🌐 in the SSTV viewer, the log, the Planche page and the journal's editor) — each kind Automatique, Sur clic or Jamais. Address, token (kept on this PC, never shown again), Tester la connexion; a queue on disk tries again while the site does not answer. In the demonstration: only to a site on this machine.
  • 🤖 Auto-pilot in the lists: a pass an SSTV campaign will receive carries a small 🤖 next to its time — Station's passes, the followed satellite and its next passes, the header, Agenda, and in Orbites (satellite list, next passes, dashboard). The tooltip names the campaign and the status; it pulses while receiving and is dimmed when the pass will be lost (with the reason) or the auto-pilot is off.
  • FT8 / FT4 transmit (FT8/FT4 tab, Émission FT8/FT4 card): through the IC-9700 SatMe already keys, terrestrial or through a linear transponder (RS-44, QO-100) with the satellite's Doppler and offset. Double-click a line to answer, 📣 Appeler CQ, six editable messages Tx1–Tx6, automatic sequence up to RR73/73, TX frequency marked on the waterfall (Shift + click), never on the called station's own. No unattended QSO: a QSO only starts from your action, an attendance watchdog (3 min) stops transmitting, ■ Arrêter l'émission and Esc always there. Refused when the clock drifts (±0.5 s in FT4). Mode données (USB-D), on by default: while transmitting is armed SatMe puts the IC-9700 in USB-D / LSB-D (both bands in satellite mode, the Doppler loop keeps it), never during PTT, and puts the previous mode back when it stops; on the rig, DATA MOD = USB. QSO over: Noter le QSO prefills the log (satellite, SAT mode). In the demo: simulated transmit, made-up stations answering.
  • FT8/FT4 tab on one page: the waterfall (its height follows the window), the decoded lines and « Qui appeler maintenant » on the left; the Émission FT8/FT4 card and the radar on the right, no scrolling (1920×1080, 1500×900, 1366×768). Tx1–Tx6 dense as in WSJT-X, the buttons on one row that stays in sight, audio level and data mode under Réglages. On a phone, the cards stack.
  • Sked › Vidéo › Globe animé (comme à l'écran) (animated globe): on the globe, the video is filmed by the browser from the page's real globe — relief, clouds, landmarks, animated scenery, the look and camera chosen — with both skies and the usual band, in 16:9 (1920×1080 or 1280×720) or 9:16 (1080×1920). Keep the tab visible while it records (≈ 30 s); SatMe-PC makes it an MP4, or the raw video can be downloaded.
  • Journal › videos, pictures and GIFs: real flags: the FT4 / FT8 decodes panel and the globe's capitals in « nom et drapeau » (name and flag) or « drapeau » now show the very flags of the page (England, Scotland and Wales included) instead of the codes « DE », « SCT », « CA ».
  • FT8 / FT4 receive: « R-12 » now shows its R (it read « -12 »), reports on two digits (« -07 »), and free text is decoded.
  • Journal › FT4 / FT8 decodes on the replay: when a pass (or a session) has some, Options › Décodages FT4/FT8 shows the messages received up to the replay's time in a panel laid over the view — UTC time, dB, message, flag; CQs in green, your callsign in red, your contacts in pink. Drag it, its corner for its size (the text follows), Visibilité (visibility) 0–100 %, newest at the bottom or the top; kept with the pass, and the video shows it the same (16:9 and 9:16). The FT8 tab's decodes are now kept with each pass; Redécoder depuis l'enregistrement (re-decode from the recording) for a recorded pass.
  • Orbites full screen: the logo and "SatMe" top left (bottom left in Classique radioamateur).
  • Agenda › Diplômes: the awards to claim and where you stand — each session's ARISS SSTV award (its page, the ARISS calendar, your campaigns) and the certificates announced by AMSAT, AMSAT-UK, AMSAT-F, matched with the pictures received during the event (best marked first); the standing awards (VUCC, DXCC, WAS satellite, AMSAT…) counted from the log (« 37/100 grids »). « Obtainable — ask before 30/10 », mark asked / received, attach the certificate received; a notice when an award becomes obtainable or its deadline nears. Add from a flyer… (a picture read by tesseract or pasted text) and Prepare the request: everything the form asks, to copy, with the pictures' pack. Nothing is sent; filling in forms automatically will come later, with your consent.
  • DATV › Pointage (button at the top of the tab, or pc?pointage=1 on the phone): the MER very large, the D margin, the trend (▲ better / ▼ worse than 5 s ago), the best (reset), the level, a 2-minute curve and a tone whose pitch follows the MER; « DÉCROCHÉ depuis… » in red if the lock goes. Reminder: the beacon alone is the reference, one touch-up at a time.
  • DATV › Quality › History: MER, D margin and level over 10 min to 24 h, the time unlocked in red, marks (station changed, stop, LO calibrated, Marquer une retouche).
  • Signal level estimated from the MiniTiouner's AGCs (≈ dBm, MiniTioune / Portsdown scale after BATC's measurements): good from −70 to −35, too weak or too strong said plainly.
  • Calage auto sur la balise (Reception card, unticked by default): the LNB's real LO and its drift measured on the beacon, always shown; ticked, taken at the next tuning.
  • Mon spectre — SDR on the same LNB (unticked by default): the SDR tab's receiver (RTL-SDR, Pluto, bladeRF, SatMe-Node) on a splitter sweeps the wide band, on the ground station's scale; a click tunes the MiniTiouner. Warns when the beacon is not in it.
  • LongMynd settings and decoding: search width (-S), wait without packets (-r), passed to the SatMe-Node; tolerant decoding for damaged streams.
  • DATV › Subtitles › Spoken translation (off by default): each received over's translation said by the voice-to-text synthetic voice, with its own voice, volume and the original sound lowered while it speaks (adjustable). Never over itself: only the latest over waits, nothing more than 20 s late. It plays where the DATV sound plays (this PC's speaker, the browser listening), through a SatMe-Node too; with no voice installed, the card leads to the installation.
  • Subtitle display: width, number of lines (1 to 4), line length (≈ words per cue), size (auto or fixed), duration, and More text (4 lines, 90 % wide, the previous cues kept above). Instant preview, set per browser, nothing is ever cut off.
  • Summary of the station received (and the previous ones): callsigns heard, read in the picture or in the service name, reports (5/9, MER, margin), locators, gear named, frequencies, key sentences, in your language. Made on the PC without Internet; Copy and Log the QSO (fills the log without saving).
  • Sked › Carte / Globe: the common window also replayed on the Orbites tab's globe, with all its looks (cartoon, realistic, hologram…) and settings (camera, details, cities, names, landmarks, their size and families) under Réglages du globe. Both stations named, the satellite's track, the part you both see in green, its footprint; the slider and ▶ drive it. Drag to turn, wheel to zoom, double-click to frame it again. The choice is kept; the map stays the default.
  • Sked › Video on the globe: in Globe mode, Vidéo makes the MP4 on the globe, with the look (all six), camera and settings chosen (cities, names, details, landmarks, Traces): both stations named (you in amber with callsign · locator, the other with its locator), the satellite and its footprint, the track with the common window in green, the line to each station that sees it, both skies and a band (satellite, date and UTC times, max elevations, « vous le voyez tous deux », SatMe). 16:9 or 9:16 (phone upright) beside the button, for the map too.
  • Télémesure › Images SSDV: a picture sent again over several passes (same callsign, same number, within 3 days) is completed with the new packets; "N/M packets, X %", a strip coloured by pass (grey = missing) and the list of passes. Packets are kept in telemesure/ssdv/paquets (a picture under way survives a restart, duplicates dropped); once complete it joins the gallery. Under way: ⤓ PNG / JPEG or Abandonner. Importer des paquets…: raw packets, KISS or the frame log of a missed pass. In the demo: two pictures made over two passes.
  • SDR › satellite scale between the spectrum and the waterfall: every known downlink at the frequency heard here (Doppler and correction included), green above the horizon, white rising within 5 min, grey below; linear transponders as bands following the Doppler. Click a name: follow that transmitter; inside a band: tune there; elsewhere: a fixed frequency. Wheel on the passband: fine tuning (Alt: faster); Ctrl + wheel on a satellite: its manual correction. Tooltip: mode, Doppler, el/az, AOS/LOS.
  • Orbites › Passage › Vue du satellite (seen from the satellite; a new camera, also in the Sked's Réglages du globe and in the Journal): the Earth seen from above, straight below the satellite — its footprint (the radio horizon), your station and the sked's other station, the log's contacts when shown, the day / night line, its ground track ahead and behind, the cities and landmarks. Beside it: altitude, footprint radius, day or night below it, « your station: in view, X km from the edge ». Drag to look around, back by itself or on a double-click; the Hauteur or the wheel bring it nearer, down to the satellite. In Vitrine, the globe goes there 30 s every 90 s.
  • Converters and transverters (Réglages › Poste et rotor): a table of bands — RF from… to…, LO, inverted, and in front of what (SDR dongle, CAT receive, CAT transmit); the first matching line wins. QO-100 presets (9750 LNB, down-converter to 2 m / 70 cm, 2400 uplink from 432 or 144) and 28 MHz IF transverters; the previous setting kept at the top. With no line nothing is sent to the rig and the status bar says so in yellow; hovering a frequency shows the IF sent.
  • Calibrer la clé SDR…: on a QO-100 beacon, a GSM base station's FCCH tone or a known frequency, SatMe finds the peak, gives the error in ppm (saved in one click) and, behind an LNB, its real oscillator. Aligner… (Suivi, Fréquences (Doppler) card): the downlink on the beacon, then the uplink with your own dots (you key the transmitter yourself), kept per satellite.
  • Agenda › Activités à venir › Activer l'auto-pilote: on each SSTV activity, one click, a confirmation (satellite, frequency, mode, period, useful passes, default chain; receive only, nothing is transmitted) and the campaign is created and switched on, the auto-pilot turned on if it was off. The card then says "Auto-pilote actif ✓" with the next pass to be received, Suspendre (pause) and Voir la campagne; if the activity's dates change, the campaign follows (unless its period was edited by hand). A satellite named without its number ("UMKA-1", "ERMINAZ-2U becomes AO-129") is looked up in the catalogue, otherwise picked once in the confirmation and remembered.
  • Orbites › Traces (slider in the options bar, and in Sked › Réglages du globe): the satellites' tracks from discreet to very marked — thicker, more opaque, outlined (dark on the cartoon, realistic and old-map looks, light on the dark ones). Globe (orbits, ground track seen from the satellite), 2D map, the pass's sky, the Sked's globe and map; ahead still vivid, behind paler. Stronger than before by default; kept in this browser.
  • Orbites › 📺 ISS en direct: the ISS's live video (NASA, via YouTube; needs the Internet) in a movable window, with its position worked out by SatMe (sea or country below, altitude, speed, day or night under it) and Voir sur le globe (the Vue du satellite beside the real one). automatic NASA source (today's live looked up by SatMe-PC), ⚙ for another one; as a corner tile on the Tableau (Vitrine).
  • Orbites › Tableau: the satellites' cards (photo and facts, one after another) are no longer cut off, in every theme and at every screen size: a corner too full is made a little smaller, the photo is shown whole (never cropped), the story goes under the photo; the card is left out only as a last resort. The Orbites tab's card shows its photo whole too.
  • Activer l'auto-pilote (Agenda › Activités à venir): the campaign starts from the rotator's lowest elevation (Réglages › Poste et rotor) or the station's minimum elevation when higher; Élévation minimale editable in the confirmation, the list of passes follows.
  • DATV › Émission › Créneaux (slots): the band plan's channels at this rate, green free or red busy on the ground station's spectrum (with the callsign), hatched near the beacon; a click on a free one sets the transmit frequency. The same marks under the wide band spectrum, our signal marked « TX · callsign », and the ÉMETTRE confirmation says whether the channel is free.
  • Signal summary: standard, MODCOD, frequency, rate, the MER receivers need, codec, picture size and frame rate, sound and the video's share of the stream.
  • Tester l'encodeur (encoder test): a few seconds coded by ffmpeg to nothing (H.264, H.265 and the hardware encoders present), kept per rate and MODCOD, with a recommendation and Passer en H.265 / H.264. Nothing is transmitted.
  • « Horloge en direct » source (live clock): dial, UTC time, callsign and locator drawn each second, a beep each second.
  • Gain ramp ▼ / ■ / ▲ while transmitting and power calibrated per rate (remembered when the MiniTiouner loop sees us 1 to 6 dB under the beacon; offered, never applied by itself).
  • Orbites › Tableau › Vitrine: the globe stands beside the card (above it on a portrait screen) instead of hidden behind it. Card size (small, medium, large) and its side (left, right) in Informations ▾; the text shrinks to fit, never cut. No more "come and listen!" by default: the cards only say when the satellite passes ("passes over us at 15:29"); the invitation comes back with Réception sur le stand (a receiver on the stand).
  • Tableau: move the globe (every look): Informations ▾ › Le globe › Le déplacer then drag (or Shift + drag, or two fingers), the wheel or the fingers' spread for its size, double-click or Remettre le globe à sa place to put it back. Kept per look; the Orbites tab is unchanged.

SatMe-PC 2026.10.32

SatMe-PC and SatMe-Node, one package (Linux, Windows, Raspberry Pi).

What's new
  • QO-100, narrow-band transmitting (cockpit › Émission sub-tab): the ADALM-PLUTO straight on 2.4 GHz in SSB (the browser's microphone, or a sound card of the PC for FT8 from WSJT-X), in CW (text or key) — its oscillator parked below the transponder, its frequency correction typed or measured on its own downlink, the uplink tied to the cockpit, the AMSAT-DL band plan applied per mode. PTT held (or latched for FT8) with a 2 s watchdog and a time-out, dummy load (−40 dB) at every start, a gain cap, cut at once when LEILA is heard, "your signal vs the beacon" while transmitting.
  • Fixed / Portable uplink profiles: chain, antenna (80 cm dish + POTY, 35 cm dish, 20-turn helix), amplifier and cable → estimated EIRP and suggested power under the beacon (order of magnitude), and Voir au Montage (2.4 GHz helix and 35 cm dish added to the catalogue).
  • IC-9700 + up-converter on QO-100: PTT refused on a beacon, released when LEILA is heard, level compared with the beacon, and the converter's LO measured on its own downlink.
  • Antenna polarisation (new module): an ESP32 box on USB drives a WiMo switch — V, H, right-hand circular, left-hand circular. Réglages › Poste et rotor › Polarisation d'antenne: the port, Tester la liaison (test the link), what is fitted on UHF and VHF (WiMo or an H/V relay), right and left swapped if the wiring wants it. Nothing is opened until a port is chosen; the firmware and the drawing are in materiel/esp32-polarisation.
  • Suivi › Polarisation: the V / H / D / G buttons, the real state (including « manuel (sélecteur) » and « bloqué : émission »), and each satellite's polarisation at AOS (fixed, or the best known). The front panel selector has the last word, and never a switch on the antenna that transmits.
  • Sonder H/V (probe H/V): in AUTO, the receiving antenna tries H then V, measured by the rig's S-meter or the SDR, and keeps the best (hysteresis). Every measurement is kept: per satellite and elevation, SatMe learns the best polarisation and starts the next pass with it.
  • Virtual ESP32: the same rules without the box, its front panel on screen and a simulated pass, to try everything before soldering.
  • Demonstration: satme --demo. A made-up station (callsign QF4DMO, every callsign in the Q series, nobody's) with an invented but believable log, pass journal and SSTV pictures, always dated in the last few days; virtual rig, rotator, SDR, aircraft, ships and an SSTV test card. Nothing real is opened, nothing transmits, nothing is sent under the made-up callsign; a « DÉMO — données fictives » band and its Remettre à neuf button on every page. A folder of its own (~/.satme-demo), works offline.
  • On a VM or a Raspberry Pi: the satme-demo.tar.gz archive and its installe-demo.sh (dry run with --sec) install the satme-demo service (port 8090, open to the network with a password).
  • Journal, 16:9 video: the caption at the bottom now takes 19 % of the picture (28 % at most with the largest texts, against nearly half before): three columns — the satellite, date and time, pointing on the left; AOS, RX, AOS · TCA · LOS and S-meter in the middle; the mark, the pass and pictures received, the station on the right. The view (sky, map, globe) gets the room, and the Fabriquer preview shows exactly the same frame.
  • DATV, TV-style subtitles: each over cut into cues of two lines at most (by sentence), each shown for a time proportional to its length, the translation under it; nothing cut off any more — the font fits the picture (full screen too) until everything shows, with a readable minimum.
  • DATV, callsigns read in the picture: they follow the station — put away on a new frequency or service and on a lost lock, and after 5 min without being read again; "seen just now" or "seen 3 min ago", older ones apart under Vus avant.
  • DATV, text lists latest on top: subtitled and translated overs, the wide-band chat, the station card's and transmitted stream's chat — no more scrolling, the history stays below.
  • DATV, steadier reception: Essayer aussi other symbol rates (LongMynd tries them in turn, longer for low rates); automatic restart of LongMynd when it stops by itself mid-reception, and of the decoder when the picture freezes while the stream flows; the margin is called Marge (D) as on Ryde.

SatMe-PC 2026.10.31

SatMe-PC and SatMe-Node, one package (Linux, Windows, Raspberry Pi).

What's new
  • Journal: one editor, for one pass as for several. A session groups passes; an opened pass is a session of one pass. The same preview, the same tabs (Moments, Options, Fabriquer, Ajouter), the same settings, the same files. The sky and the map show the passes one after the other, the globe all together. 🌍 Plusieurs passages at the top of a pass, Ouvrir seul (open alone) from several.
  • Screen 16:9 or phone 9:16 format: the frame is drawn over the preview (Fabriquer); the SSTV picture and the overlays are placed with the mouse or a finger, and the video, the GIF and the picture keep them in the same place.
  • Start before the AOS, end after the LOS (0 to 30 min): you see the satellite coming, on the page as in the files.
  • Two zooms (from afar outside the passes, near in a pass), the camera eases from one to the other; more satellites (favourites, their footprints as an option); the replay slows down as a pass or a picture comes near.
  • The preview is the file: the page plays at the video's speeds (×20 in a pass, real time with the sound where a contact is heard; speed ×1 to hear the whole pass) and shows what is ticked for the video (RX, S-meter, the contact's record, opening card, next pass's card, mosaic).
  • Exports of one pass or several: MP4 video with the contacts' sound, animated GIF, picture of the moment, WAV sound (end to end), the passes' files in a ZIP.
  • Orbites always at the present time: opening the tab or the dashboard is at ×1, never paused nor on a replayed pass. The Passage view follows the pass under way live, else the next one with its countdown (▶ Rejouer en accéléré is a click away).
  • ⛶ Tableau: Orbites full screen, six looks — Dessin animé (the globe turns by itself), Classique radioamateur (flat map, grey line), Nuit, Rétro, Pédagogique (bubbles coming one at a time, cards, "did you know?") and Vitrine for a stand or a club fair (big cards turning by themselves: "the ISS passes over us in 12 min — come and listen!", a satellite's photo, amateur radio in four lines, the club and its link as a QR code). Panels as you choose: time, next passes, chosen satellite, station, sunrise and sunset, the Moon, space weather, ticker.
  • Satellite cards with a real photo (under Orbites' list, a dashboard panel): country, launch, mission, orbit, a story, frequencies, Wikipedia summary; a free photo (author and licence shown) asked once from Wikimedia Commons then kept, a drawing without the Internet.
  • Nearly 250 landmarks, drawn by family: none / main / all, Types ▾ and Size (small to very big).
  • Suivi your way (mouse or finger): panels fold, handles widen the columns and make the sky / map / globe bigger, Fréquences compact, ⊞ Disposition.
  • Modules (Réglages › Modules): tick what interests you — QO-100, DATV, SSTV, SDR, FT8, APRS, METEOR, planes, ships… — or pick a profile. A module unticked leaves the menu, its settings and the status bar. On updating, everything stays ticked.
  • New version: its window opens by itself, once per version. Portable shows in the header when SatMe-PC runs from its donnees folder. The SSTV auto-pilot banner counts the AOS and LOS down every second.

SatMe-PC 2026.10.30

SatMe-PC and SatMe-Node, one package (Linux, Windows, Raspberry Pi).

What's new
  • Knob relay: the USB volume knob plugged into another PC tunes your station from afar. On that PC, start SatMe-PC, then Settings › Interfaces › USB knob › Relay to another station (also tick « Tune with the knob »): the station's address (https://… behind nginx, or http://192.168.…:8090) and its remote access password, used once and never kept. Each step is applied by the station with its own knob settings (step, target, learned keys).
  • Knob on Windows: the volume keys (the USB knob among them) are read on Windows too, and can be captured so the PC's volume no longer moves.
  • Portable SatMe-PC: a donnees folder beside the program (beside SatMe-PC.exe in the Windows zip, or bin and lib on Linux) keeps all the settings and files; nothing is written elsewhere on the PC. Ideal on a USB stick.
  • New Orbites tab (Sky workspace): the Earth in 3D with your favourite satellites (or those ticked in All) going round on their orbits, their footprint on the ground and a line to the station when they are up. Six looks: Realistic, Cartoon, Hologram, Dotted globe, Retro radar, Old map. Time can run faster (×1 to ×1200).
  • 2D map: the same satellites flat, their footprints, the ground track past and to come, day and night.
  • Pass: the passes of the next 36 hours; ▶ Play the pass animates it fast, with the countdown to AOS, the culmination, LOS, the station's sky, elevation, azimuth, distance and Doppler. Three cameras (Chase, From the station, Overview) and an adjustable height (or the wheel) to see more of the Earth.
  • Suivi tab: a Globe button beside Sky and Map shows the satellite followed, its orbit and footprint, the favourites around.
  • Cartoon is the default look. The satellite chosen stands out: a ring turning round it, its name marked with a ★, a thick orbit, a clearer footprint; the others stay in the background.
  • Details (simple, normal, rich): cities on the globe and the map; the Earth's relief shaded and, on the cartoon, mountains set on the real summits (NOAA's ETOPO1 relief), landmarks (Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, pyramids, Big Ben, Taj Mahal, Fuji, the rockets of Kourou and Baikonur…), boats sailing, and in rich, whales, forests and penguins. Come closer with the wheel to see them.
  • Contacts: the log's contacts on the globe and the map, as dots, dots with the callsign, or locator squares.
  • Cities: all, only the capitals (with their name, their country's flag, or both), or none. The cartoon's relief shows more.
  • Journal › 🌍 Session: choose a satellite and two dates, and all its passes play one after another on the globe (passes in a row or continuous time, fast or not), with the session's timeline and the SSTV pictures arriving one by one. A button plays an SSTV event's session directly. In the Journal, drag the globe to make room for the picture; the video keeps it where it is.
  • Session speeds (page and video): three sliders, Outside the passes (the satellite far from the station, very fast, from ×10 in continuous time), During the pass, and Picture or contact (slow, to watch the SSTV picture being drawn or follow a recorded contact). The speed goes from one to the other smoothly. The session video shows the time, AOS · TCA · LOS and « AOS + 3:12 », with an adjustable text size.
  • Journal: a Globe view beside Sky and Map replays the pass round the Earth; the contacts light up at their time with a line station → satellite → correspondent, and the SSTV pictures received land beside the station.
  • All worked out in the browser, without the Internet.

SatMe-PC 2026.10.29

SatMe-PC and SatMe-Node, one package (Linux, Windows, Raspberry Pi).

What's new
  • Stylish SSTV sheet, like an ARISS series poster: in Texts, Styled titles (ARISS series, Retro neon, Gold badge, Chrome title) dresses the title in one click, the number taken from the event; each text stays editable.
  • For each text: a font (seven free fonts bundled with SatMe), an effect (outline, relief, neon, chrome, gold, gradient), italic, letter spacing, glowing rules.
  • Background: the picture frame (fine white, rounded with a shadow, neon in the colour chosen), seven new backgrounds (the ISS above the Earth, its solar arrays, the Earth at night, a Spitzer nebula, and two drawn ones).
  • + ISS poster: a stylish sheet ready made, NASA background, chrome title and twelve boxes in neon frames.
  • With fewer pictures on the sheet, the boxes go between the title and the texts at the bottom, never over them.

What's new
  • Quick setup at the first start: callsign, locator (or latitude and longitude), name, UTC or local time, language, minimum elevation, access from the network and port, in a few steps. Always there in Réglages › Démarrage.
  • What's new: this window, at the first start of a new version; later from the help menu (?).
  • New version available: once a day SatMe-PC looks at the latest release on GitHub and says so quietly at the top of the page, with its notes and the right download. Nothing is downloaded or installed by itself; turned off in Réglages › Démarrage.
  • Réglages › Démarrage: access from the network (--reseau), port (--port) and data folder (--dossier) set from the page, with where each value comes from; taken into account at the next start, Redémarrer SatMe-PC where the launcher allows it. The command line always wins.
  • Deployment (Réglages › Sauvegarde): the settings and the startup options in one file, without passwords or keys (unless asked), imported on another PC after a preview; a systemd or Windows file to start SatMe-PC with the session, to install yourself.
