- IC-9700 on Windows: the missing USB driver, noticed and installed on a click. When the rig's CP2102N serial bridge (or its sound card) is plugged in without a working driver, Réglages › Poste et rotor says so under the port choice: « Un poste Icom (CP2102N) est branché mais Windows n'a pas son pilote. » Ouvrir la page du pilote (Silicon Labs, or Icom's page), Installer le pilote (the official driver downloaded from silabs.com, checked, installed with pnputil; Windows asks for permission), Choisir le zip téléchargé… if the direct download is refused, Rechercher à nouveau to read ports and sound cards again. Nothing is installed without a click; the driver does not ship with SatMe. Reminders: switch the rig on before plugging the cable in; Windows Update › Optional updates may offer it too; on the rig, CI-V USB Port « Unlink from [REMOTE] », the same speed as in SatMe, CI-V USB Echo Back OFF. Nothing changes on Linux and macOS. If silabs.com refuses the direct download, download the zip with your browser: Installer le pilote picks it up from Downloads by itself. The notice also shows what Windows sees (each Silicon Labs or Icom device, its status, its code).
- Orbites: a card for every SSTV and SSDV picture satellite — LAPAN-A2, ASRTU-1, HADES-SA, SEEDS II, TeikyoSat-4, WREN, SONATE-2, UmKA-1, VIZARD-meteo, Monitor-3, UTMN2, AHMAT-1, SAKHACUBE-CHOLBON, QMR-KWT 2, GALAPAGOS-UTE-SWSU, Geoscan-2, -4, -5 and 239Alferov now have their card (Orbites tab, Fiche card): country, operator, launch date, mission and a story, each fact taken from public sources (the operator, Gunter’s Space Page, IARU, SatNOGS…). A new Format line: « 3U CubeSat », « PocketQube 1P », « Microsatellite de 50 kg »…, filled in for SO-50, AO-27, AO-91, RS-44, FO-29, IO-117, AO-73, PO-101 and JO-97 too.
- DATV transmit: more safeguards and sources (DATV tab, Émission sub-tab). The level starts at 0 and goes back to 0 after every stop (garder le niveau après l'arrêt, unticked by default); ÉMETTRE stays greyed at 0, and until the callsign and locator are given (Réglages › Station; neither NOCALL nor AA00), the reason written under it. A click on the wide band spectrum sets the transmit frequency (un clic choisit la fréquence d'émission box) and says "slot that looks free / busy" — indicative only, from the ground station's spectrum. Only the page that started it keeps the transmission alive: closing it stops it; another tab or the phone does not keep it alive and closing them changes nothing. PTT / sequencer output (none by default): a serial port's RTS or DTR line, or an HTTP request to a network box; output active, delay, RF; RF off, delay, rest; Tester without RF. Simulation: everything runs, nothing is transmitted. Sources: a folder of videos looped, scrolling text in the overlay, a sound delay of −500 to +500 ms.
- SSTV: colour analysed and corrected, and an optional AI denoiser. In the viewer, 📊 Analyse says what is measured on the picture: colour cast (and the tuning error it amounts to), colour shifted against the picture (to a tenth of a pixel), levels, saturation, noise, mark. 🎨 Couleurs corrigées sets them right, nothing invented (a step whose measure is not clear is not applied, a picture already right comes out unchanged); Avant | Après compares. The default and the steps: SSTV › Réglages › Couleurs et IA. The picture as received is never changed; the finished version also goes to the sheets and, if you choose so, to your site.
- AI denoising (off out of the box): SCUNet (Apache-2.0 licence) on the processor, 2 to 3 s a picture. SSTV › Réglages › Couleurs et IA › Installer downloads it (about 170 MB, checksums checked). A picture through the AI is always marked « IA »: gallery, viewer, sheets, site.
- SSTV: automatic AI denoising, its settings, and the version sent to your site. Once the model is installed, SSTV › Réglages › Couleurs et IA offers Débruitage IA automatique (off out of the box): each picture received goes through the AI by itself, in the background, one at a time, never delaying the decoder or the auto-pilot; only when the noise reaches a threshold (5 by default, the σ of 📊 Analyse) so clean pictures are left alone. The AI's settings: strength (0 to 100 %, the denoised picture blended over the one before), order (before or after the colour), tiles and overlap, threads (processor only); Tester sur une image shows before | after with a line to slide, keeping nothing. In the viewer, each picture's IA box still wins (unticked, the picture stays without). In Réglages › Envoyer vers un site web, Images SSTV : la version envoyée — as received (the default), colour corrected, or AI (and colour); a picture whose AI version is not ready yet goes as received, then again, replaced, once it is. Your site receives
retouche(couleursoria) to say so. - Voice assistant (optional module, off by default, Settings › Modules): say "SatMe, next ISS pass" to the PC's microphone — next pass of a satellite or of your favourites, satellites in view, next AOS, autopilot, last SSTV picture, DATV, QO-100 beacon, rotator position, last QSO; and a few gestures: autopilot, SSTV or DATV reception, mute. Whisper writes the sentence on this PC (a small model, 75 to 485 MB, Install button in Settings › Assistant and home automation), the "Spoken translation" voice answers, a bubble shows it at the bottom right; the 🎙 button skips the word "SatMe". Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Home Assistant (optional module, off by default): the station's state published to your MQTT broker, the entities found by Home Assistant by themselves (next pass and AOS, satellites in view, autopilot, SSTV, DATV, beacon, rotator, last QSO); with Actions, switches and a "Commande SatMe" field. Alexa or Google Home take them up through Home Assistant. The MQTT password stays on this PC, never shown again.
- Publication web › Remote commands (two boxes, unticked by default): for an Alexa skill on your own site — the site never connects to the station, SatMe-PC sends it the answers and fetches the commands. See
docs/assistant-domotique.md. - Never any transmission by voice or remotely: PTT, CAT, DATV, SSTV, FT8, ADALM-PLUTO transmission and rotator moves are always refused ("do it on the screen"); only eight receive or sound actions exist.
- DATV: smooth playback, picture and sound together. Tick Lecture fluide (vidéo et son) under "Son sur ce PC" in the DATV tab: the received picture plays in the browser as a real video (25 frames per second, sound in sync, about one second behind) instead of JPEG pictures one by one with the sound apart. Received H.264 is passed as is; H.265 and MPEG-2 are re-encoded to H.264 by SatMe-PC. Mute or set the volume with the 🔊 button at the picture's bottom left; on this PC, the "Son sur ce PC" sound goes quiet meanwhile so it is not heard twice (level meter, subtitles, translation and recordings carry on). Also works through a SatMe-Node and from another machine (remote access with the password, HTTPS included). A browser that cannot play it, or a failure: the JPEG pictures, as before. In the demonstration, the demonstration test picture.
- DATV: QO-100 beacon watch — the Balises QO-100 card of the DATV tab (surveiller, unticked by default) follows the DATV beacon (10,491.500 MHz) on the ground station's spectrum and, when the receiver is on it, as it reaches you: lock, MER, holes in the stream PID by PID, picture decodable or not; and the narrow band beacons as the SDR hears them (level, offset in Hz). It says plainly "défaut à la source, pas chez vous" (fault at the source, not at your end) when the beacon goes off or its stream arrives damaged while your MER is good (only video and sound have holes, no transport or FEC error), and "chez vous" when it is the signal or the PC. An alert shows in any tab; a 24 h to 7 day history (a box every 5 min) and the list of changes. Optionally, contrôler l'image de la balise avec le MiniTiouner libre tunes it for 60 s every 30 min while nobody uses it, then puts your settings back.
- DATV: automatic scan, always a picture — the Balayage auto card (toujours une image, unticked by default) moves to another signal when the one you follow does not lock, is lost or its stream is damaged: your favourites ★ first, then the beacon, then the stations present on the ground station's spectrum (the most recently received and the strongest first); x seconds on each or until it drops, and back to the followed signal when it returns. Tuning by hand (Recevoir, a click on the spectrum) pauses the scan for 10 min; it never starts a stopped receiver. With the PC's MiniTiouner or a SatMe-Node's.
- Web publishing: QO-100 beacons — a new Balises QO-100 line under En direct (unticked by default) sends the beacons' state (ok, absent, stream damaged at the source, weak signal; the cause, since when, the beacon's MER) in
directasbalises: as soon as a state changes, otherwise every 5 min. - QO-100 narrow band transmit: helpers, all unticked by default (the cockpit's Émission sub-tab, Aides à l'émission card). Simulation: everything works (PTT, time-out, CW, memories) but nothing is transmitted, no device opened. Level guard: on the air, our signal heard stronger than the beacon lowers the gain (or the IC-9700's power), 6 dB above it cuts the transmission; never raised. Listen before talk: "fréquence occupée" when somebody is already there. Pluto gain cap per profile (home, portable). CW memories with
{MOI},{LUI},{LOC},{RST}and prosigns (Alt+1 to Alt+6), a keyboard keyer, voice memories recorded in the browser and sent under the PTT (released at their end), a transmit journal (duration, uplink, level against the beacon, why it ended; CSV). Nothing ever goes out without the operator's click. - DATV transmit: presets — the band plan's usual settings (net 333 kS on 10 499.25, 125 / 250 / 333 / 500 kS, 1 MS on 10 494.75, DVB-S) and your own (Garder…). A preset only fills the form: never the gain, never while transmitting.
- Satellite operating: transmitting through low-orbit satellites (new module, Réglages › Modules, off by default). A card under Émission IC-9700 (Suivi tab): a preset per satellite (CTCSS tone auto / none / chosen, a lowest elevation below which PTT is refused, power applied on demand), Armer SO-50 (74.4 Hz for 2.5 s, then the tone put back), a QSO assistant (the pass, the suggested exchange, etiquette, Noter au carnet), 6 CW memories (
{MOI},{LUI},{LOC}) sent as a tone through the rig's audio, 4 voice memories recorded from the page, and APRS through the satellite (position, status, message, path ARISS) with a beacon armed for one pass only. Every transmission starts from a click, through the IC-9700's PTT and all its guards; Esc stops everything. - ISS beacon through a KISS radio: armed for one pass only. Ticked, it holds for the ISS pass under way (or within 30 min) and unticks itself at LOS; it is never kept from one start to the next any more.
- Web publishing: the station's hardware — a new Description du montage line under Réglages › Services en ligne › Envoyer vers un site web › En direct (unticked by default) sends your site the hardware of the Montage tab (dish, LNB, converters, MiniTiouner, SDR, rig, amplifier…) and the signal's paths, from the antenna to the receivers and from the transmitter to the antenna, so that it can draw your QO-100 chain (type
montage; to a folder,montage.json). Names and characteristics only, never an address or a serial number; as soon as it changes, otherwise once an hour. - DATV: the record of the station selected on the spectrum. The callsign written on the selected signal of the wide band spectrum (the one the receiver is tuned to) is looked up on QRZ.com: its record shows first, Station sélectionnée sur le spectre, even before the lock. With Réglages › Services en ligne › Envoyer vers un site web › En direct › Image DATV, the site also gets the station watched: callsign, name, town, locator, country, distance and bearing (never the QRZ photo, the e-mail address or the street).
- DATV through a SatMe-Node: reception resumes by itself after the node restarts (service restarted or Pi rebooted). SatMe-PC starts reception there again with the same settings and takes the stream up again; "node silent" clears as soon as the node answers. A stream silent for 20 s is reopened: it no longer stays stuck after a cut.
- Speech to text: 15 more languages can be translated — Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Slovak, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Slovenian, Greek, Turkish and Catalan, through English like the others. Tick them in Settings › Speech to text, then Install translation (about 65 to 150 MB per language).
- QO-100 beacons: a fairer verdict — « Weak signal: frames are lost at your end » no longer shows when no packet is lost: the receiver's FEC flag alone no longer counts (blocks must really be left uncorrected), and a few decoder errors on a stream received whole leave « picture fine ».
- Speech to text: Arabic and 11 more languages of QO-100's footprint can be translated — Arabic (the QARS beacon's video), Persian, Hebrew, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Azerbaijani, Albanian, Galician, Basque, Thai and Esperanto. Tick them in Settings › Speech to text, then Install translation (about 65 to 115 MB per language).
- My website: a picture is no longer lost while the site bans the address for a while — it stays in the send queue and goes once the ban is lifted, instead of being counted as refused.
- Globe: a seventh look, Bleu nuit (night blue) — sober, like the globe of a website's home page: night-blue space, a deep blue ocean, green land lit by the Sun, the night and a soft twilight band worked out point by point, a fine coastline, a blue atmosphere glow; your station an orange dot, the satellite a bright light with its cyan footprint. Chosen wherever the look is: Orbites (the looks' bar, right of Carte ancienne), Suivi › Globe (the list at the globe's top right), Sked › Réglages du globe › Rendu and the Journal's globe; the journal's and the skeds' pictures, GIFs and videos follow it.
- DATV: the LNB supply and the reception survive a restart — the 13 V / 18 V chosen is kept (the auto scan, the beacons' watch and a restart no longer cut the LNB), and a reception running when SatMe-PC stops is taken up by itself at launch (not if it was stopped by hand).
- Orbits › Dashboard: the globe of your choice in each theme — a « Globe » menu beside « Theme » (the theme's own look, or any of the tab's, Bleu nuit included), kept for each theme, and a « Bleu nuit » theme.
- Globes: a « Transparency » slider — from opaque to very transparent: the orbits, satellites and stars behind the Earth show through. In Orbits (the settings bar, and the dashboard's Information menu) and in the Sked's globe settings; one for every globe, kept in the browser.
- DATV › Auto scan: a « rotate » mode — x seconds on each signal in turn (favourites, beacon, stations on the spectrum, the followed one included), even while all is well; a signal without a picture is left sooner. « x seconds on each » only applied as a fallback, when the followed signal drops.
- No more reloading the page after an update — a SatMe-PC page left open sees that SatMe-PC was updated or restarted and reloads by itself (never while transmitting, nor while something is being typed: a banner offers it then).
- DATV › Auto scan: the switch shows, with a countdown — over the received picture, a chip « ↻ station · 23 s → next » while the scan runs (the countdown in rotate mode, and in x seconds on each while on a fallback); on each switch, a banner « Bascule : IZ0ZWS → IK5EHI » with the reason for 4 s, in full screen too. The Balayage auto card shows the same countdown. With Mon site web › En direct › Image DATV, your site gets the station, the countdown and the last switch (
datv.balayage: names and frequencies only) to show them the same way. - Globes: « Transparency » at 0 is truly opaque — the names of satellites behind the Earth no longer show on top of it; they come back as the transparency is raised.
- Your site: the auto-pilot's banner gives the campaign's real end — « SSTV until 30 Oct » from its dates, even when the name taken from an announcement still said « 27 to 29 ».
- The auto-pilot's banner can be moved — it may hide buttons (the agenda): drag it by « 🤖 Auto-pilote », it keeps its place in this browser; a double click puts it back under the header.
- DATV: a picture « Qualité » per browser, for tablets. Above the MER in the DATV tab: Qualité Source (the default, the picture as received), 720p, 480p, 360p or Auto, kept for this browser only — a tablet can stay on 480p while the station PC keeps the source. The smaller sizes are re-encoded by SatMe-PC, smaller and lighter (H.264 from 2.5 Mbit/s down to 600 kbit/s with Lecture fluide, lighter JPEG pictures otherwise), once for all the browsers asking the same one; two re-encoded sizes at most at once to spare the processor (a third one asked gets the nearest, and the line says so), stopped 10 s after the last viewer. Auto goes down a step when the browser drops pictures, stalls or falls behind, and back up after a calm while (« Auto · 480p »). Beside it: the received rate in kbit/s and the dropped pictures, to compare.
